Design thinking isn’t just for designers. It is a mindset that focuses on how to approach the challenges around us. A mindset that can help us adapt to the process of being more mindful, and open to the right direction towards innovation. We speak to Design Singapore’s Emily Ong about how non-designers can adopt and use the design mindset as a strategy to grow and innovate their businesses. Whether you are considering design as a career or want to explore how design can help your business, check out what Emily has to say about the scholarship and other opportunities and schemes provided by DesignSingapore Council.

Emily has more than 25 years of professional experience spanning the arts, media, design and infocomm in the private and public sectors. She started her career in advertising and marketing with Miller Freeman Pte Ltd and Singapore Press Holdings Ltd in the media sector

Emily spearheads policies and initiatives, as well as works with companies, schools, professional bodies and individuals to grow the arts, media, design and infocomm sectors in Singapore. During this time, Emily has been involved in formulating and developing major masterplans such as the Arts & Culture Strategic Plan, Infocomm Media 2025 and Design 2025 Masterplan.
